ABOUT PHIL RHOADS

Phil Rhoads was a former Chair & Secretary of the Pennsylvania Governor's Safety and Health Conference Committee and a member of the Advisory Committee for over 32 years. Always a contributor, Phil remained active even after retirement to ensure we could put on a quality conference year after year. Sadly, Phil passed away on October 27, 2018, just before our 2018 Conference. Phil was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army in 1957 at Ft. Benning, GA. He was an active member in many organizations, including Zion United Methodist Church, former Zion United Methodist President of the Church Trustees, life member of the Thirteenth Ward Political Club, Vigilant Fire Company Social Club, BD Social Club, the Viking Athletic Association, the West York VFW, Shiloh American Legion, Rooster Social Club, and Prince Athletic Association. Read more.

Phil enjoyed bowling, softball, and golf. He played softball for the Reliance & Goodwill Fire Companies and the Zion United Methodist Church. He bowled for over 53 years in the White Rose Men's League at Lincolnway Bowling Lanes, where he was the League's Secretary. Phil played in the Drum & Bulge Band of the Goodwill Fire Co and was a member of the Halloween Parade Committee.

He loved to go deer hunting in Somerset County. His greatest joy was watching his oldest great-grandson get his first deer. Phil enjoyed watching his great-grandchildren and grandchildren play in sports events. He will be sadly missed by all.

The Safety Community will miss Phil and his contributions to the Safety Profession.
